Please read this End-User License Agreement ("Agreement") carefully before downloading or using SelfTQ. ("Application"). By downloading or using the Application, you are agreeing to be bound by the terms and conditions of this Agreement.
If you do not agree to the terms of this Agreement, do not download or use the Application.
License
SelfTQ grants you a revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited license to download, install and use the Application solely for your personal or commercial purposes strictly in accordance with the terms of this Agreement.
Privacy Commitment
We are committed not to release data that we collect to third parties and it is our mission to protect and preserve your privacy from things like data-mining, use of data-mining by AI without your consent, and disclosure of your data to untrusted 3rd parties.
The Internet is a complex public platform and this limits our ability to provide this kind of privacy, so we are forced to take a pragmatic approach. We offer examples below to offer a better understanding of some of the implications and nuances of protecting your data so that you can arm yourself with the truth.
Example 1: We provide backup services for many of our clients. We do not divulge any of the content that we hold on behalf of our clients and we will not data-mine your data other than simple meta-data like size and time/date to manage your backups but even with encryption in use, the fact that a large amount of data was sent from client computers to our system is something we cannot hide unless a VPN is in use.
Example 2: We offer VPN service to many of our clients, and although the exact nature of the data being carried over the VPN is obscured from 3rd parties, the fact that a VPN is in use is something we cannot hide. Your ISP knows you are using a VPN, and they can tell generally who the VPN vendor is.
Example 3: By visiting this website, your computer had to resolve the domain name "selftq.com" to the IP address used by this website, leaking information about your use of our products to the provider of the name service. In many common VPN configurations, this can be true when you are using a VPN, or even when you have your own name servers.
Example 4: We use Google Analytics in our web site to help us better understand the customers that are available to us to serve. While this helps us serve you better, it also gives information to Google about your interest in SelfTQ.
Example 5: Oneof the features that we provide is DDNS aka "Dynamic Domain Name Service". This popular feature allows you to host your own services that can be accessed from any device without having to use VPN service, but it also makes it possible for anyone on the Internet to find and even track the digital location ("IP address") of your computer or service. This is true for every single user on the internet not using a VPN or "Carrier Grade NAT". (CGNAT)
Restrictions
You agree not to, and you will not permit others to:
a) license, sell, rent, lease, assign, distribute, transmit, host, outsource, disclose or otherwise commercially exploit the Application or make the Application available to any third party.
Modifications to Application
SelfTQ reserves the right to modify, suspend or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the Application or any service to which it connects, with or without notice and without liability to you.
Warranty
The purchase or use of or intent to use SelfTQ does not imply any implicit or explicit warranty or fitness for any specific purpose. Use of SelfTQ is performed at the risk of the user, who holds SelfTQ and any of its officers or representatives harmless in the event of any failure to perform.
Term and Termination
This Agreement shall remain in effect until terminated by you or SelfTQ.
SelfTQ may, in its sole discretion, at any time and for any or no reason, suspend or terminate this Agreement with or without prior notice.
This Agreement will terminate immediately, without prior notice from SelfTQ, in the event that you fail to comply with any provision of this Agreement. You may also terminate this Agreement by deleting the Application and all copies thereof from your mobile device or from your desktop.
Upon termination of this Agreement, you shall cease all use of the Application and delete all copies of the Application from your mobile device or from your desktop.
Severability
If any provision of this Agreement is held to be unenforceable or invalid, such provision will be changed and interpreted to accomplish the objectives of such provision to the greatest extent possible under applicable law and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
Amendments to this Agreement
SelfTQ reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to modify or replace this Agreement at any time. If a revision is material we will provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.
